Catfish fishing on the Ebro River: optional accommodation

Description & booking

Catfish fishing in the Ebro is especially popular with river or marsh fishermen. They are the reference habitats for this species as their calm waters are full of nutrients. Your fishing is done alongside an expert local guide.

Catfish is a freshwater species native to the great rivers of Central Europe. It is the largest that lives in inland waters and that for a few decades, it has been able to be caught in the Ebro.

It is a large fish that can reach considerable dimensions, reaching more than three meters in length and 150 kilos in weight. Due to its size and strength, its fishing is considered a challenge for fishermen, making the area between Riba-roja and Mequinenza great destinations for lovers of this type of catch.

Depending on the season, catfish can be caught from boats or land. Fishermen often use heavy fishing equipment and suitable baits to attract this predator.

The best time for catfish fishing coincides with the coldest months of the year and spring, although they are also caught in summer.
