Description & booking

English steamer from a smokestack built in 1877 and sunk on 21 October 1917, in collision with another English merchantman. The Perim: length 73.37m and 9.91m beam and 1348 GRT. Depth 63 meters. This wreck is located off Cape Salou, and is popularly known as the “steamer of the Arbret”.

Significant fracture of the hull forward on the starboard side and located a cannon base installed in the hull at the stern and the tube of the same, buried by the mud at the bottom.
Mainly this last detail, historically places the sinking in the last period of the First World War, definitively confirming that it is the English steamer “Perim”. Although armed, she sank in collision with another ship (the Wilston), both sailing with their lights off for fear of German U-boats.
