Tarragona. Wreck La Dragonera

Description & booking

In front of the port of Tarragona, you will find the Pârque Subacuático, a very special park that has become a nature reserve where you can see more than two hundred species and various wrecks.

Among the wrecks, La Dragonera stands out. It is a 65-metre-long freighter, which has rested since 1994 on a sandy and muddy bottom between 14 and 24 metres deep. Its deck is 19 meters and the bridge between 14 and 16 meters. The wreck is split at several points, through which expert divers can access its interior.

It is also an ideal place to get started in wreck diving. It is covered in corals, sponges, and other marine organisms and is home to a wide variety of fish, including pipefish, lobsters, sea hares, rays, octopuses, conger eels, groupers, and chestnuts.

But La Dragonera is not alone, it is accompanied by other sunken ships around it of smaller length and made of wood such as the Golf de Lleó, the Kuark, the Cuadrat, the Hermanos Aguado, the Sebastián y Lola, the Rojo, the Rojo II, the Lili, among others.
