Big tuna fishing Optional accommodation

Description & booking

Fishing for the large bluefin tuna is a very popular and appreciated activity due to the strength and size of this species. Bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) is known to be one of the largest and most powerful fish in the sea.

The restrictions imposed a few years ago by the European Union have increased its population in the Mediterranean and our coastline has become one of the best places for this type of fishing.

When the giant bluefin tuna (big tuna) concentrate on the surface to feed, the ideal time comes for fishing. One of the most common techniques is with fishing rods and reels specially designed to handle the force of this species, as well as heavy tackle and lures. We will use rods specially designed to withstand the high stresses exerted by the larger specimens, equipped with high-strength multifilament lines and different kinds of lures.

With the brumeo technique, specimens weighing about 90 kilos can be caught. For those with more weight we will use the spinning technique. Bluefin tuna fishing is subject to strict regulations and we must always return the specimens to the sea in the best possible condition. But even in catch and release, this is a fascinating and unforgettable experience for any angler.
